Postal Service Thefts Are A Way Of Life In Temecula

Theft involving mail in Temecula, CA is a normal event.

In an article by the talented Alvin Claverie, the NC Times reveals that Vintage Hills residents were hit by mail thefts in December 2010.

Here is an excerpt:

The Vintage Hills neighborhood of Temecula, a housing tract just west of Wine Country, has been targeted by mail thieves in recent weeks, according to residents.

In one case, someone allegedly swiped an outgoing envelope with a check inside from a mailbox. Residents said in a different case, someone in a small pickup drove through the neighborhood after mail had been delivered while an accomplice on foot rifled through mailboxes.

In another case, thieves broke into the Temecula Post Office and stole mail, which they then used to create an identity theft operation.

These are the names of the US Postal Service station managers at the Temecula post offices. The leader at the 92592 post office is Walter Nastande (a tall black guy). The leader at the downtown 92591 is named George Glennon. Have they been investigated? Someone needs to start looking into the mail theft problems in Temecula.
